Capt. Kris has been guiding anglers to tournament wins and trophy catches in the Florida Keys for many years. After 14 years as a full time guide he is now specializing in fishing the primary migration of saltwater gamefish in the area during the months of March, April, May and June. It's during these months that the largest numbers of Tarpon, Bonefish and Permit are present in the waters around South Florida.
Although great fishing can been had almost anytime of the year, his knowledge of the area and time on the water has him focused on these four months (prime time) for the most consistent weather and fishing. After the cool South Florida winters the waters begin to warn to a more comfortable temperature and the Tarpon, Bonefish and Permit, not unlike the tourist's, will flood the shallow flats and bays surrounding the Florida Keys.
The annual Spring Tarpon migration is something every fly angler needs to experience. Catching a permit on fly is a lifetime achievement for many fly anglers and there is no better place in the world than the Florida Keys in the Spring. Capt. Kris has guided his anglers to over 450 permit on a fly in his career so far.
Catching a giant 13lb to 15lb Bonefish in the Florida Keys is truely something to behold. The keys are home to some of the largest bonefish on the planet. Although this achievement is extremely difficult, Capt. Kris and his anglers land several of the huge bones every season.
